GTA VI: An Extended Look on August 27: when to watch, where to watch and everything confirmed

Date, time, where to watch, and what Rockstar has actually confirmed about GTA VI's next showcase, without inflating what hasn't been said yet.

Rockstar has confirmed that "An Extended Look," a new GTA VI showcase, premieres August 27, 2026, through a first-of-its-kind partnership with Netflix. It's the first time Rockstar has taken footage from one of its games to an exclusive premiere outside its own channels before releasing it more broadly.

Confirmed time: 3pm ET, 12pm PT, 8pm BST, which is 4pm Brasília time. The showcase stays Netflix-exclusive for a six-hour window before it lands, at 9pm ET (10pm Brasília time), on YouTube and Rockstar's own official channels, no subscription required.

Rockstar has not called this material "Trailer 3." Its official name is "An Extended Look," and Vice City Media Lab treats that as a deliberate difference, not a formality: the term implies something longer and possibly more structured than the two previous trailers, but it isn't, on its own, confirmation that gameplay will be shown. Any coverage already treating that as settled is getting ahead of what Rockstar has actually said.

How to watch: Netflix subscribers get access at launch, directly on the streaming platform. After the six-hour window, the same material becomes available on YouTube and GTA VI's official channels, no subscription required.

WHAT WE STILL DON'T KNOW: the showcase's exact runtime; its exact format (live gameplay, a narrated pass, or a mix of both); whether there's any mention of an online mode; and whether there's any information about a PC version. None of that has been confirmed by Rockstar as of this writing. Vice City Media Lab would rather flag the gap than fill it with a guess.

Vice City Media Lab will track the showcase live and update this exact page afterward, with what was actually shown, kept separate from any reading or speculation on our part. There's no need for two competing pages about the same event: the before and the after both live here.

For more context on the game as a whole, see the complete GTA VI hub. For the people and places most likely to show up in the material, check the characters hub and the Leonida map hub.
