GTA VI ships with two editions: Standard ($79.99) and Ultimate ($99.99). The difference isn't in the story: it's in what surrounds it.
WHAT BOTH EDITIONS SHARE. The complete Jason and Lucía campaign, the entire Leonida map, and identical main-mission progression. Ultimate doesn't speed up the game or grant mechanical advantages. Rockstar isn't selling extra firepower or easier missions.
WHAT'S ULTIMATE-EXCLUSIVE. Five exclusive vehicles, four weapon variants, multiple cosmetic packs, five shops locked out of the Standard edition (Rideout Customs, Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305, Electric Fang Tattoo, and One-Eyed Willie's), plus one side mission Standard players won't see at launch. This content unlocks gradually as the campaign progresses, not all at once when you boot the game.
PRE-ORDER BONUS (APPLIES TO BOTH EDITIONS). The Vintage Vice City Pack isn't Ultimate-exclusive. Pre-ordering either edition gets you the same pack: a classic car with a garage, outfits for both protagonists, and a weapon pattern.
WHO STANDARD MAKES SENSE FOR. Anyone who wants the full story without paying for extra cosmetic content. Nothing in the main campaign is held back.
WHO ULTIMATE MAKES SENSE FOR. Anyone who values vehicle and visual customization, wants the extra shops available from the start of the campaign, and doesn't mind paying $20 more for it. Worth noting: you can start on Standard and upgrade later by paying the difference through your console's digital store. It isn't an irreversible pre-order decision.
This article isn't pushing the pricier edition. The goal is making the actual difference clear so the choice is yours.
